Genemod is a venture-backed, team of technology entrepreneurs and scientists headquartered in Seattle, WA. The Genemod platform enables life scientists to collaborate and streamline day-to-day operations in the research lab, making pre-clinical research efficient and reproducible.
As a software engineer, you will work closely with the leadership team to build the Genemod platform. You should have experience working with web frameworks and libraries such as React, Django, and/or Node.js.
The engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the Genemod platform. The platform is built with React (a JavaScript library) for frontend and Django (a Python framework) for backend. There is a huge opportunity to improve the platform through UX research, data analysis, and big data.

- Our frontend web experiences are a key part of our business, and we’re looking for engineers that have deep expertise in building world-class web apps and care deeply about UI/UX

What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience working with full-stack applications
- Multiple years of experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries such as React, Vue.js and Angular JS
- Multiple years of experience with backend technologies such as Django, Flask, and Node.js
- Familiarity with database technology such as SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Applied experience with development of RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Redis, nginx, TypeScript, Redux, Webpack, Docker, Kubernetes, Web Socket, and AWS services
- Experience working with data scientists or working on AI/ML pipelines is a plus
- Have completed an academic degree in CS, CSE, or equivalent
- Able to implement Web User Interface from requirements and conceptual designs
- Able to recognize and implement reusable code and libraries for future use and sharing across multiple applications
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for full software development life cycle including coding standard, build processes, testing, and version control
- Experience with writing and executing unit tests
- Experience with agile development methodologies
